Lingzhi is the place with lots of history where the Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal routed through this place while coming to Bhutan in 1616.The place is geographically beautiful with the view of snow caped mountains through the season. It is also one of the important sites for high altitude medicinal herbs which the collection takes place annually by the Menjong Sorig Pharmaceutical Corporation Limited. Lingzhi has the large areas surrounded by the mountains and it is one of the collections places for cordyceps by the community of Lingzhi. Their main source of income comes from the collection of cordyceps and has drastically improved their livelihood. Moreover, due to erratic weather lots of unexpected soil erosion are taking place and screes are falling down which impacts growing of medicinal plants and pasture land for nomads. On top of that, due to global warming the encroachment of invasive species and shrubs poses a significant threat to the growth and harvesting of medicinal herbs.
